Seldom the temp under the hood of the Mazda 2.5 is dramatic to say the least. We actually gain no power from a wai to losing power due to the heat under the hood. I know there is no room and that is due to the transmission.

I am not to familiar with the engine layout of the 2.5L therefore, could you clarify how the transmission interferes with a CAI setup?

A CAI to be efficeint can't be to tortuous a path. By the time you get around the transmission you will have had to make a lot of bends and just not conducive for an easy flow to outside air. It gets hot in there for sure. Now having said all that, I know Hotshot makes a cai for the probe gt atx's but this supposedly will not fit on the mx-6 which have It is conceivable that the millenia engine bay is larger than either of the above and may work.

The only way I can think of how the transmission would hinder a cai setup is if you were routing the piping toward the back of the car and not the front bumper as they customarily are routed.

but again, i am not familiar with the engine layout of the 2.5L so edumacate me. :P

Ok now I see your problem in understanding could not figure what was missing for you. Ok, on the side of your intake top to bottom lies the battery in the way of routing over the top of the transmission as welll as radiator hosing that would get clamped down. As far as the transmisssion is concerned remember that the engine in the Millenia is transversely mounted. therefore on the same side as the intake is what was a bell housing in rear whell drive cars. Don't know what it is called in ours but serves same function as being a conduit to driveline to wheels. Simply there is not very much room. Of course one could always devise a system but do to where it would have to travel, I doubt very beneficial to power. But hey if someone comes up with a good one, I will be the first on board to get one.

just don't go to car trendz then, they try to tell you that hot air is because because it takes less energy for combustion..morons

Well it is easier to combust something when it is hot, thus the need for high octane gas. The problem is there is no oxygen present to combust. So I would agree leave them alone.

I could list many reasons why cold air is better. well anything under 45 degrees isn't so good, but thats about it
