My mechanic finally finished rebuilding the engine, it runs smoothly and is quiet like never before, however It wouldn't be my milly if everything worked out perfectly.
He had to disconnect the transmission in order to remove the engine. After he connected everything back and took the car for a ride it turned out the the tranny doesn't go above the 2nd gear (not again ). No matter whether in D, S or shifted manually, it just wont go to 3rd. In comparison with the last time when my tranny got ****** up, it doesn't trigger any HOLD light nor the codes. Pretty strange as you can feel the clutch slipping but no malfunctioning reported by the warning lights.
I could take it to guys who did the rebuild but that would mean driving 80 miles on 2nd gear, which isn't fun. Luckily my tranny is still under warranty, but there is still this issue where my father needs to bring me the car and he lives 80 miles from me, that's why I'm trying to try every possibility to make it running properly. One of the mechanics said that one of the electro valves may got blocked by some kind of dirt and is causing this. Does anyone have any idea

I finally got my car back, the tranny is working and the engine is running, no complaints so far. It turned out that some kind of gasket inside the tranny got blown, the pressure dropped and that's why higher gears didn't want to engage.
