What's going on...

I am new to the board... I recently came across the board while searching for mods for my 99 Milly S.

Unfortunately, I can't find many aftermarket upgrades for my Milly, and I'm needing your help.

I've had her since 2000, bought her used w/6k, and she is super clean. She just about has 53k and I've always been a fanatic about keeping her clean.

However, I'm wanting to make a few changes.

Mostly I am interested in upgrading her performance, and perhaps changing her lighting system.

Any and all suggestions and sources would be greatly appreciated.

BHR has done a few mods to his S. Most of those are custom. If you are talking about suspension performance upgrades then you can go with Eibach or HR springs. We have a bulk buy going on write now for struts. KVRperformance as well as possible others carry cross drilled as well as slotted brake rotors. A few different companies make brake pads for our cars. I like Carbon Fiber Porterfields. Stainless Steel brake lines. Corksport makes a sway Bar for the rear. I can't think of much else right now.

Because you have an S, that makes it even harder to find performance parts without getting it custom made. I have a '99 2.5 which uses the KL-ZE engine, and some parts are interchangeable with other K-series engines, and I know of several Ford Probe owners who upgrade to the KL-ZE, so many of them have found at least a few parts.

Becuase the 2.3 is supercharged, a friend of mine suggested getting different pulleys to change pulley ratios and get more boost from the blower. I looked into that a bit, and most places I went to that mentioned about that said it's not a good idea; the blower on the miller cycle is rather unique, and doesn't operate like more common superchargers, plus it's already tuned and set up for optimal (or at least very close) performance. This is only what i've read elsewhere, so if i'm incorrect, please no one bite my head off for it. I haven't looked much into the S engine or anything. I can't ever remember what kind of blower it is, just that it uses teflon-coated helical blades and is one of the most efficient kinds of s/c for its size.

Basically, if you want any kind of real performance gains under your hood, you're looking at alot of custom work. Custom cams wouldn't cost too much i would think... and you could always bore the engine a little bit, port and polish the heads and get the ECU chipped (i think BHR has done that?) Depending on where you live, you can get a local machine shop to bore and polish key things for a bit (not a ton) of $$$, if you look around enough...

Just remember, an engine is essentially a complex air pump... the more air that goes in and comes out, and the faster it goes in and out, the more powerful the engine. Of course, you'll need extra fuel eventually in order to power the pump... but the point is, a motor that breathes better runs better. IMO, first custom thing you should do is intake and exhaust.

$$$I had some custom koni struts made for my car, however I would not recommend that, I would recommend getting in on marcus group buy since its cheaper and you get a warrenty. for hids I would go with 6000k from www.lavalighting.com I also had a custom intake and chip made from autothority (you would have to go there or ship the car) I have the eibach pro kit lowering springs but are not currently installed. I also have a 1 wicked sound system, but except for the headunit isn't that custom...just wicked cool. I also recommend getting mud guards and a spoiler(www.spoilerdepot.com)
