The late 94s and 95s were the fastest due to they weighed the least. Bolt on mods can close the gap some for the hp but the greatest defict the S has over the L is torque due to the supercharger. The 2.5 can with bolt on realistically get to around 190 crank hp maybe a few more, but beyond that needs some sort of forced induction. Yes you can use nitrous but that is not usually advisable in a corner.

I'd recommend getting a 99 model. Early models, as with any new product launch typically have more problems then models that have been out a few years. Plus in 99 you get different (and better looking) tail lights, front turnsignals, more chrome trim, and a few different interior touches as well. A 99S with low miles will treat you right, plus you can get an affordable warranty on the car because its newer.

Only thing with the S is make sure the SC is okay and make sure it's not leaking oil like mine was. I don't necessarily think the oil leaking is a common problem with S models it was just luck of the draw for me.
Ebay has two superchargers on now.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2424924012
