Can the Milly key be copied by a local place?

My spare key doesn't open my trunk. So if I buy an uncut key off Ebay, can I take it to Home Depot to get it copied? It seems like the keys are laser cut though.

I had to find a local specialized auto key cutting place. Used the yellow pages to find it. Home Depot, & hardware stores etc. couldn't do it. I even had to take the car to the store to have it done. Cost was about $35. Good luck

dj, your spare key won't open the trunk, or lock the glove box, its designed that way, only your master key and the remotes will open your trunk. if you get your spare key copied then the spare won't open the trunk either. you have to find a pretty high end place to do it. remember people, the millenia is a 32k car, I don't give a **** what you paid for it. its a flat, computer designed laser cut key. you have to find a place that first off has the abilty to do it, and 2nd, someone who has atleast an idea of how to do it. even dealerships have to send off your key to mazda na

I have never heard of that problem. I have heard of 2 types of keys, a master and a valet. The valet is made specially for the ignition only. If you email the guy who has the picture of two milly keys in his auction on ebay. He will tell you the difference in the keys, but one of the 2 he sells will work for everything on your milly once copied.

In my area several local locksmiths stock key blanks for the Milly and have the equipment to cut duplicate keys. Places like Home Depot and K-Mart do not. Grab the yellow pages and make a few calls. You should find someone local who can do the job unless you live in the backcountry. Locksmiths here in South Jersey are charging around $35, including the blank, to make a duplicate.

Yeah, same here. They charge $15 to if you bring your own, so it doesnt seem worth it to buy off ebay to me. By the time you pay for shipping and they key, it will even out to about the same amount.

Had no problems getting a duplicate key cut. Went to a locksmith for it. Any reputable locksmith will have the equipment.
Interestingly the blank was marked as a Toyota key.
$40 australian.
