****. i just did my brakes and got a oil change and then the next day i hear clicking sound, real loud to. the mechanic said it might be a spring valve that maybe snapped, maybe the timing belt because that is the area it is coming from. anyone have any idea, or have heard of something like this????

if it clicks, then goes away it could be your hla's (hydraulic lifters)... i had my car sitting for a week or so while i did all the engine work, and when i started it up, it was clicking... it was because all the oil had gone down to the pan, and took a while to get back up....

Spray a little silicone spray, not anything sticky, on the belts when they are running. You will find the sound will disappear until the spray wears off.
They told me nothing was wrong, but a year later they replaced the belt after finding a chunk missing from it. the sound has never returned. |
