Thumbs up

hey guys, I am new here. I just installed HID system on my 2000 Milly S. There is no problem when I turn on my low beam, but both HID bulbs flash on day time running lights. I guess there is just not enough juice (voltage) to run HID when it's on DRL. So my question would be how to disable DRL? or how to run DRL as low beam instead of I will have to turn on my headlight everytime. Anyone has any idea about this? Thanx

Chaysd welcome. I can't answer your question but their are afew here that can that have already made the conversion to HIDs. Since you are new you need to check out the sticky in the millenia forum called Millenia Meet 2005.

disconnect your HIDS right now, your ballasts are trying to "jump start" your hids. your ruining both your cars wiring, your ballasts, and certainly your capsules.

No hid system can be used with DRL due to the very nature of how real hids work.

You know, Volkswagen uses HID with their DRL system, but they're designed for it. Also, I thought that the Millenia's DRL used the high beams. correct me if I'm wrong....if that's correct, then the HID would have no bearing on this because there is no such thing as high beam HID....at least I've never seen it.

Thank you for all your helps. What I did is to keep my headlights on all the time, so that way my ballasts are not trying to "jump start" my HID as it is in DRL mode. BHRpowered: Would that do any damage to my wiring or ballasts?

Mymellinie, I certainly would like to go to Millenia Meeting. Unfortunately, I am in Vancouver, Canada.

To all of you guys out there who has HID conversion kit installed, is there any cure for that? Or what are the proper steps of HID installation? Thanks again.

The DRL relay is under the hood. US spec cars are just missing the relay. Perhaps just yanking it is all that is needed.
