I was just thinking, no-one ever mentions the Xedos 6 which is arguably more common and popular over here than the Xedos 9.

I just wondered whether it was released in the states and if so, what it was called.

Would it be the Eunos 500 in Aus as I've heard it mentioned elsewhere ?

The thought just popped in my head when I was daydreaming at a meeting this afternoon !!

Surely a rare one, here it's about as many of them as the Xedos 9 I suppose, which of cource is also very rare. I suppose the 2,0 v6 is a nice car, though I don't see why it did'nt come with the 2,5, like the 626 it was based on. Here that one sold a LOT more, more bang for your buck, the Xedos 6 being far more expencive.

Dallas, did you ever see the english commercial for the Xedos 6? The one with a lady looking like Diana starting her car in the garage late night, apparently to visit someone without her husband. And then her worried face the husband should hear the car start, then a satisfied smile, and some comment or text on the screen, don't remember, about how smooth and quiet the Xedos 6 is.

The xedos6 is the Eunos 500.
It was never released in the U.S.

I assume you are familiar with http://www.mazdaxedos6.com/english-main.htm

Yeah with the 626 already in North America, the Xedos 6 / Eunos 500 really had no place to go in the Mazda lineup. It's too bad, the Xedos 6 looks better.

yes, its like the eunos 500, a lesser model, in the states it doesn't really exist but I think of it as a cross between the new 6 and the old 626...mostly 626

It was a BMW 318i competitor with front-drive but an extra pair of cylinders and a full equipment list. The BMW didn't even have colour coded bumpers or electric windows at the time.

No, Xedosman, I've never seen any commercial for the Xedos but it sounds funny !

Yeah, it lends itself to a more sporty look. You can also see various aspects of the 323 in its styling, IMO. I'm thinking of replacing the Scorpio for one but as I've said before as the Scorpio is so much more loaded than the Xedos 9, I'm finding it hard to let go.

The Xedos 6 is really quite popular and surprisingly common in the UK and really mods very well. It is relatively easy and cheap to maintain. I love parking next to a colleague who has a rather neglected maroon Xedos 6 and ticking him off !!

Were any even imported in the states/Canada ?

Yes, when I was after info for the Xedos 9 I contacted both of them but never even got a reply. They are both strictly hardcore Xedos 6 fanbases !
