Is it possible to add a keyless remote to the base model 1995 millenia (that didn't have this feature)?

j-allan: Don, how can you sleep at night knowing your car is available to drive 24/7? Very, very tasteful mods, IMO, from the signal mirrors to the hids and engine compartment, well done!
Kat_Daddy: btw, i think plat still holds the milly crown here. Don is moving into the #1 contender spot though...
Roof: Don has the makings of a good padawan.
we will have to see where this goes before i take him under my wing

I would be - but this will be my wife's Millenia - she hates white gauges

The best place is probably salvage. Mazda likely wants hundreds for that little box although I've never looked the part number up for a price. The better question is if a keyless entry unit from a 1996+ will work. If so, the remotes are *much* cheaper to replace than the one-off 1995 ones.

MillyOwner - you have a base 1995 - right? Anything special you have done to it?

Just the wheels, a grey "swede" leather interior from a 2000 Millenium Edition to replace the cloth, exhaust, red-out treatment on the rear amber turn signals, clear turn signals in the front from a 1999-2000 millenia, and an auto-dim rearview mirror with digital 8-way compass display among a few others.

To our advantage, the base millenia doesn't have the sunroof, which adds something approaching a hundred pounds of extra mass at the worst possible place...the highest point on the car. So logically, our cars handle better, are more structurally rigid, have more headroom, and are faster (to an extent of course ).

Leather is the one thing I would really like - was looking at katzkin instead since finding the used other parts seems a crap-shoot. WHere did you get the auto-dim mirror?

That was one of my questions - any good aftermarket ones to recommend that may interface with our alarm system?
