Thumbs up

<div align="left">Hi - Newbie here! Glad to find this forum.

I have a large crack in the air mass meter boot, and I'm picking up a new one from the dealer today. It looks simple enough to replace, but since I've not yet done any work on this particular car myself (and don't have a manual), I was just wondering if there was anything special tricks or gotchas I should be aware of before I start. Also, should I remove and clean the MAS while I'm at it? Anything else I should take a look at or clean?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Clean the air filter of course. I dont think there is anything special. If you use paper based filter, and not oil based filters like K&N your MAF should be very clean. I wouldnt touch it if it looks clean.

Thanks. I didn't think there was much to it, but didn't want to get started and find any surprises.

I appreciate the responses.

Make sure you don't drop or damage the MAF in any way...it's quite pricey.

People demand freedom of speech to make up for the freedom of thought which they avoid.

Words should be a little wild, for they are the assault of thought on the unthinking.

Is you car a stick shift? what happens when you rev it? As long as the dealer repair the damage it will be okay.

Sadly, the air boot on the Millenias has got to be made out of the cheapest **** rubber that was available. I had to replace mine due to multiple cracks a few years back. However, I also had a 1999 Ford Taurus (3 years older than my Milly) and that boot when I sold the car a few days ago was just as good as brand new.
