Can anyone tell me where to buy the most descent motor mounts, or link it for me? Of course I dont want ebay crap. But I need the left side (or tranny mount) mount, and the rear mount.
Are the ones from rock auto ok?[/b]

guys, this is not rocket science. everyone here is WAY more computer literate than i am. here's what i do.
first, find a part number(s). in this case, the rear mount for a 2.3 is T006-39-040G. 2.5=T001-39-040G. trans, 2.3 T006-39-070/T001-39-070
then google mazda parts. look for words like genuine mazda. click on the site, and you will see the same software at every dealer. i happen to like tasca mazda-
http://www.tascafordparts.com//index.do-it will ask you if you want mechanical or body parts, but there also should be a place to just enter the part number. you may have to select the car marque from several. then, you will see the part price, both suggested list, and cost after discount. the list price will probably be the same at all sites, just the final cost will be different. do your math, and figger out the discount you are getting off of list. now call your local dealer, give them the part number, and ask your price. be polite, they are just following company policy. local dealer cost will be about twice what web cost is. but, remember you also have freight, and it will differ depending on the distance. but remember, local sales tax+gas+time will be about the same, maybe more. watch the fine print, like minimum handling charge, other hidden costs. look at the return policy, and warrantee. if you need to, open several windows with several sites, and compare the pricing. however, a caveat. just because the part comes up with cost, etc, that dont mean it's readily available.
the possibility of a dealer actually having your part in stock is really slim. they will have to order it from a regional warehouse. so will your local dealer. most orders go in early, so after about noon it will be another day. if the regional warehouse dont have it in stock, and ANY dealer can instantly find this out, then it goes farther up, and sometimes the part is on national backorder. if so, you are done. gotta go used or buttco. after about 10 years, parts for the car start to become scarce. some dealers send them to a kinda old parts home, and it just takes more time. costs more, too. if the part is availible, get a recieve/shipout estimate, and then you can figger out about when you will get it. most places will ship it out the same day they get it.
i know parts, and i find that i can get a genuine part for less than other non dealers, like rock auto. they gotta go dealer too, and they gotta get their pound of flesh, too. also, it will take more time, and if there is a problem, it then becomes huge when you want to return it, or do a warranty claim. some of the time, the genuine part comes out so close, it is not worth the extra hassle, or possibilities of fitment, performance, etc to go aftermarket. all quality is NOT the same.
since i was in the parts business for a very long time, an experienced parts person can tell quickly if the guy on the other end is an idiot or not. and it DOES make a difference. i have been mistaken for a shop many times, and given shop discounts, just because of the lingo. it's a lot like cb radio out on the highway. if you talk the trucker lingo, they will all answer, and give you info. if not, silence. parts people are busy, they dont want to waste a lot of time with some yahoo that dont know what they want.
