so i got a new serpentine belt, water pump, timing belt, and valve cover gaskets, also replaced all the spark plugs. car seemed to hesitate a little under load so i checked the codes: Pending P1540 and P1450. seems like the mech messed up some vac lines. if anyone has experienced this combo before or can push me in the right direction that would be great. I suspect i can fix it faster and avoid having to get a rental if i were to bring it back to that shop. I wont be going there again. there are some bolts and things missing after their work which is the sign of a lazy mechanic and my pet peeve. any help appreciated. thanx!

Print the vac diagram and check around ABV.

Most probably you dont have to remove rear IC. How much did you pay? I am also in the process of timing belt change.. Parts are ready looking for someone to do..

Parts,Labor, and they also fixed all my electrical problems: $1800. the dealer wanted more than that just for the valve cover job.

i will go over the vac diagram tomorrow since i have no sunlight at the moment. just wondering if anyone had experienced this code combo before. i searched but found no info on one of the codes (1450 excessive vac) and the other is ABV related so i am assuming a line to the ABV is misrouted causing the excessive vac problem also..

So they do spark plugs, VCGs and timing belt. I did the spark plugs myself. I bought all the parts online. I was thinking about $400-500 for rear and tranny mount + timing belt. I think I will dump around $1200-1500 into it eventually including the $310 tint. I am scared to calculate

1450 is the evap system, most common is loose gas cap. however, with 1540, i would look at any lines that are linked. iow, the evap system and abv. the purge solenoid is also in circuit with the abv, if those lines are crossed, that may be the problem. someday someone may go thru all the solenoids, and post if they are normal open or closed. not me, tho.

i put a red dot on the tube to nowhere in the last pic. what is this??
