I mentioned creating this topic in another thread but I figure I'd give the links time to grow and do an easily maintained index page at milleniatech.net to start with.

I'd like everyone to post links to technical posts, write-ups, or just good informational topics that he/she believes fell through the cracks and never got pinned or moved to the tech section. Maybe they were unpinned due to loss of pics in the case of visual guides or lost in the shuffle after a forum reorganization, or simply underappreciated at the time.

Authors of any relevant topics and write-ups please post links to your topics in this thread.
I'll start off easy and create an index page at milleniatech.net with links to the threads along with descriptions and some method of categorization so that things are easy to find for everyone.

Those of you that would like your guides HTMLized (like the spark plug replacement guide and intercooler cleaning guide) instead of just linking to your MW.org post, I can do that. That would also keep you from having to worry about maintaining the photo hosting and it makes them more easily printable or converted to PDF if desired. Original author credit would go at the top and bottom of each HTMLized guide. I'll even go as far as accepting MS Word documents as email attachments if you're unable to host pictures on the web.

Below is a link for MazdaWorld.org's Advanced Search. I challenge those that vaguely remember an informative thread posted a while back by a particular member or perhaps a keyword focused on a particular date range to find that long lost thread.

well i think one of x's post on how to burp the system. My cars coolant has been refilled by autozone, the mech who did my water pump and myself and air has stayed in the system. I will look for it and quote him on it and put it here.

Here you go
Burping is easy enough if the thermostat has the tiny hole passage, positioned upwards. This helps the air to escape through the thermostat even without the engine being warmed up. The stock thermostat has this hole, as well as the Duralast which I use. I chose it because stock isn't delivered as 88 C (190F). It looks embarrasingly cheap and was made in Israel which I find disturbing, but it has served me well so far.

Anyway I get ALL the air out prior to starting the engine this way: jack up right front 8 inches to make the engine filler cap the highest point, without competition. Air in water will go upwards, simple logic :) Then add coolant through the engine filler neck untill it appears full. Squeeze the radiator hoses gently. Allow the air to escape, this takes a while, you can hear it burping through the tiny thermostat hole. Top off with coolant as the air escapes, during like 5 -10 minutes. When no more coolant will go in there, fill it to the rim, and put on the filler cap. Then fill up the coolant reservoir to maximum level. Jack down the car and drive untill warm. If done this way, no further refill should be neccessary. At least this method works for me. To ensure correct mixture, I fill one litre glycole, then one litre water, another litre of glycole etc. This ensures correct mixture of 50 %. Don't be tempted to go below 50% mixture. The coolant won't be able to prevent corrosion and buildup as good as intended if the mixture is too low. Obviously coolant meant for alloy engines is mandatory. And no mixing with the red type coolant.[/b]
Though some may think its something simple but if 3 people (2 "profesionals" and myself ) have tried it and got the same result it aint that easy.

Exactly what I'm talking about. I'll probably start by indexing the stuff already in the tech section if only to organize it rather than just having a long list of topics. I'll even add a few with more to come.

Front lower control arm bushing replacement.
http://forums.mazdaworld.org/index.php?showtopic=39873

Rear exhaust manifold removal.
http://forums.mazdaworld.org/index.php?showtopic=18906

Lateral link writeup.
http://forums.mazdaworld.org/index.php?showtopic=40658

Also single posts can be linked to by clicking on the post # in the top right of each post to copy the servlet code (the .php?foo=1 junk in the link) needed to make it jump to that particular post when clicked.

Linking straight to supercharger rebuild pictures (still hosted since 2007...for now at least.)
http://forums.mazdaworld.org/index.php?s=&...st&p=400868

When the servlet code gets too long, IPB will truncate the hyperlink when displayed in your post but it will work properly when clicked. Or, just make a text hyperlink.

Click Me to See Supercharger Function from Tech Highlights Manual

Browsing all posts by a particular member name also finds good stuff.

I know a couple have fit in TSX projectors in the milly headlights... Did anyone do a write up on that? Every thread i read i see people saying it was done and others saying they did it but nothing on how to or what had to be modified to do it.

Yeah, links to stuff like that. I know the projectors have to be wired differently and that would be useful info for someone doing a projector retrofit.[/b]
I know it wasn't a retrofit or anything but no matter what it will get wired up the same way and I explained it in my tut.......I think...I can go farther into it and show how to hook the HIDs up with a relay kit but that's another 2 hours for a tut lol.

I was going to say thanks for digging that up Falcon but I forgot that I was so sick of looking them up I just threw em' in my sig LOL.

LOL I thought you ordered the kit already? Order the kit and spread out the wires and snap a pic and post it or send it to me on AIM. I'll label where each wire goes for you.

A couple of HID retrofit threads...one member may have posted the retro on hidplanet.com or mazdaworld.net. The other thread is missing pics (as usual).

I know Reality1011 and ChiTown did a TSX retro. Those writeups may be on the .net site too.[/b]

Hey guys, the second thread is not working. I mean the pictures in it don't work and the thread is like 4 years old and I didn't wanna reply there to bring it up again.
Do you know if the members who did the retrofit are still active?

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
