Default Head gasket replacement

Well, my head gasket gave out on me the other day, so I was thinking about replacing the head gasket. Just wanting to get some opinions on this to see how hard it is and if its worth doing it yourself. Btw its the front gasket.

Thanks
Chandler

Do you have the 2.5L engine? You'll still need to take off the intake manifold to get to the heads. The 2.5L is a bit less work in getting the intake manifold off as you don't have the supercharger to deal with.

Yes, it is the 2.5, what else do you have to remove? It doesnt look like too bad of a job.

Read through my thread regarding where I had the intake pressure cleaned by a machine shop. I detailing some of the "experiences" that I'm having as I put my 2.5L intake back together. Sure, I could have also done the valve covers, too, but - thought I'd save that task for cooler weather.

If you do the front, do the rear as well. There is no point of going throw all that work to half ass the job.

The 2.5 is a **** of a lot easier to work on than the 2.3.

You might even want to consider pulling the engine since you will be doing a a semi major rebuild. You will save considerable time pulling the engine than trying to contort under and over the engine.
