Considering you have a Protege and you're posting to an all Millenia forum I'm pretty sure the likelihood of a person being able to direct you properly is a long shot. In the Millenia you would pull the center console and inspect the connection point there. You would then go to each of the rear tires and inspect if the cable came loose on either parking brake bracket.
