Default Millenia/Eunos 800M Miller Cycle - no start - no fuel

Hi - after parking my 1994 Millenia/Eunos 800M Miller Cycle on side of road on slight angle towards the kerb with almost no petrol in tank... I came back to find I can't start car... thinking it's out of petrol..

Same happened night before and I managed to jerk the car out by cranking over in Neutral and pushing into Drive and eventually started ... which I thought the same would apply this time 'round.

After towing the car back and changing fuel pump for NOTHING... car still won't start.

I have checked for spark and have had the motor run when spraying RAW Fuel into the throttle-body... and it runs normally until I take my finger off the nozzle spraying the fuel into the throttle-body - which eliminates air & spark issue ..

bottom line : Not getting fuel into the motor... I tried crimping the top thin hose on the fuel pressure regulator situated to the right of fuel rail (looking from front-on) to try and increase fuel pressure to injectors without success.

(Unless I was crimping the wrong hose)... I am out if ideas short of removing the injectors with fuel rails...I don't know whether a test light will show the injectors pulsing...

I also found fuel in the front fuel rail after loosening the fitting so I guess fuel is getting to the injectors.

I've been told it can't be Crank Angle Sensor (CAS) as motor wouldn't run when spraying raw fuel into throttle-body.

Could it be ECU/ECM ??

are there diagnostic codes to show me sensory faults ??

Any suggestions... greatly appreciated ... the car has been off the road since last September ... so it'd really make a difference to get it on the road.

Thanks.

I have been running a Mazda Eunos 800 year 1994 model which is a 2.5 litres V6 engine.

ignore the spambot above....

if you have access to a mechanics stethoscope can you listen to the injectors and see if they are "clicking"

at least this way you know if you should focus on the mechanical or the electrical.

also check your cam position sensor and your crank position sensor. if these are disconnected the engine will not start as you described

this is kind of a pain, but if you can pull and tap into one of the fuel hoses to/from the rail, turn the ign on, and see if fuel flows. dunno how long it cranked with no fuel, but an intank fuel pump depends on fuel for both lubrication and cooling, and trying to start with no fuel in the tank can crap the fuel pump pretty quick

could it be Air Flow Meter ( AFM) ? or ECU/ECM ??

where do I look for the ECU/ECM and is there a code list ??

I just hooked up noid light and it suggests signal is getting to the injectors from ECU ...

ie: out of the 4 pins on each loom/bank ... 2 provide pulses and 2 would be for something else I gather ...

I have spark ... that suggests it is not Crank Angle Sensor (CAS) correct ??

I have replaced the fuel pump ... it's the 1st thing I did ... even though fuel pressure readings were correct ... contrary to my mechanics beliefs .... ( re: fuel pressure readings) ....

well you need 4 things for combustion

1) Gas
2) Air
3) Compression
4) Spark

1) Gas - the fuel pump works and you said you verified it with a pressure gauge. what if a fuel line under the car is clogged or crimped. not scientific but pull one of the rails and try starting the car. if fuel gushes, this is not your problem. if you get pressure on the fuel pump, but no fuel in the rails, this leads me to believe the fuel line is obstructed somehow

2) Air - this shouldn't be a problem in your case

3) Compression - not sure if this applies to you or not since even crappy compression in at least one cylinder should make it fire. you need minimum 90psi for the spark to ignite

4) you say you have a spark. did you actually pull a coil pack and ground the plug in the pack while turning over the engine. check the grounding points for the coil packs if in doubt.
