Default 95 Milly + Small Loan = Ideas

Well not too long ago my 95 Milly decided to poop on me. So I've decided instead of buying a new car, I'm going to take a loan out for 5k and fix her up.

Things I've already put down on the list, obviously..

(everything listed is being installed by my cousin for free, so I don't have to worry about labor cost)

-engine.
-transmission.
-black rims.
-lowering kit.
-tinted windows.

anyone else have some kind of idea that would look good on the milly? mine is a 95 beige color, black dashboard with beige leather seats.

Let me get this clear.... You took a $5,000 USD loan to fix up a 1995 Mazda Millenia?

Your car is worth $500 with all that stuff in it to begin with regardless of mileage. I've seen BMWs, Audis, and Mercedes manufactured in the last decade go for less than that.
EPIC FAIL!

what he^^ said. and just for grins, the car is not the collateral, is it? cause no one in their right mind would loan than much against it. 5 grand would get you a nice 2001-02 in excellent condition, with money to spare

I never did anything yet. The loan isn't taken out or anything like that. I was just brainstorming. The Milly has been in the family for a while, I'd rather see her brought back to life a little bit than sell her to a junk yard and get like $250 for her. **** that noise.

I was kind of baked when I said 5k anyways lmao, It's going to be more or less around the 2.5k line. The car has 195k miles on it and this was the 1st thing to go wrong with it (1st major break) I'd say it would be a shame to not fix her up and see for how much longer she can go.

For ~$700 you can get a very gently used low mile JDM motor and transmission. If you can do the swap yourself you will save considerable $$$ and have a great daily driver once again. If you have to pay a shop to do all the work then that may just as well turn out to be a deal breaker and you're better off cutting your loss.
