Exclamation Starting issue

I have an 00 milly 2.5 ltr w/ 289k.
I have had this issue for a while now but it's getting more frequent.
When I turn the key all I get is a click, if I retry turning the key it'll start just fine. but lately I have to turn the key on and off 2-3 times and then it will start (most of the time). I have had to Jump it on occasion to get it to start.
I have a new Battery, Alternator, battery cables.
this problem has been going on for a few years, maybe 4-5x a year now it's like 2-3x a week.
I don't think it would be the starter being it's been happening for so long.

any help would be awesome,
Thanks in advance
Chris

i dont know if anyone will agree with what im about to say. its a bit of street mechanics to find out if its the starter, at least this is a trick ive carried with me since forever, and being 23 it is that long lol. i was taught this in colombia way back when i used to live there.

b4 trying to start the car open the hood, take a hammer and tap the starter with it a couple of times... not too hard but not too soft. then try starting the car. try starting the car immediately, i would reach in through the window if u dont have another person doing it.
