Exclamation Gauging demand for NEW ignition coils for the Miller Cycle engine

I'm trying to gauge interest in those wishing to obtain *new* ignition coils for their Millenia S. Rather than swap in used ones one by one as they fail like many of us are currently doing, how many here would replace all six if they were to cost $40-50 each or less?

In other words, what is the right price that makes replacing them as a set of six worthwhile?

I'm looking into possibly buying genuine Hanshin coils (same ones sold at the Mazda dealer) in bulk from a supplier and wondering what kind of demand there would be for these considering they are currently $120/each on eBay and far more than that at the Mazda dealer. I'm not looking make a profit or anything I just wanna cover some overhead/time/effort and give some 10-15 year old Miller Cycle engines out there some new life including mine.

We could do a group buy or I might just buy them to resell to interested individuals. Just wanted some input from you guys first. I may have to order as many as 50 to get them at a decent price.

maaaaaaan... I wish this thread was started back in 2008 before I spent $1500 on new coils. (yes I am crazy! Want Proof? Bam!)

This is officially the CRAZIEST thing I have ever bought for my Milly

To all of you who have not swapped the coils, the engine purrs after... at $40-50 a coil I recommend all of you jump on-board with this group buy. That is a STEAL for OEM made parts.

$40-50 a coil is still too much. Other OEM coils (which are basically the same) are cheaper even from the dealer. I can for sure get $50 coil if one is shot but I will not put $300 for something which is running. I am sure there will be something else in a month which will make me immobile. I would rather keep the money for that.

MO cant you find cheaper? I remember you posting below $20 a piece? That is reasonable for a bulk buy.

I'm fairly sure they can be had for as low as $20 each but I'm not sure yet. That's what I want to find out. At what price would these need to be for the typical Milly S owner to be prompted to swap all six as a matter of general maintenance vs replace them individually to keep the car running. My car has nearly 150,000 miles and while the ignition system is still "operational," I'm sure more power and fuel economy can be had by putting in fresh ignition coils. I'm starting to misfire again, and while I have a few more used coils, the prospect of pulling stuff apart every 6-12 months to track down bad coils is tiresome. I'm pretty sure $20 each or less is doable if enough are bought at once.

I'm submitting purchase requests to four different suppliers today for quotes. For now, we'll assume $125-150 for a set of six if this goes through. Everyone continue posting in this thread if interested so I have an idea. If I wind up buying 50+ of these, I need to make sure I can sell them 'cause I don't need that many.

Hey Victor, I still haven't installed those injectors I got from you but I'm hoping those and these new coils will make this engine sing like it used to.

A bit offtopic:...but MO you should get those injectors dipped in an ultrasonic bath while pulsing them before you do the work to swap them. It would really clean them out and bring them back to optimal condition. I'd be willing to do them for free for you if you get them shipped here.

I have only had to replace one coil, I found the used replacement locally on ebay $35 including shipping and so far everything is fine. Does anyone think a coil can mis-fire and not drop the RPM's enough to trigger the CEL? Your thoughts please.
