there is also one more thing... the car shuts off sometimes. its only happened twice or thrice in the whole year. once was this week and tried to shut off in two other occassions. the revs dropped below normal and almost turned off. i dont know if that has anything to do with it, im guessing it does since i have no more codes other than the P0325

maybe the sensor is doing it's job. where do you get your gas from? have you tried adding some fuel SYSTEM cleaner? you might have some water in the gas tank

It is totally normal for the P0325 to come and go when the knock sensor is about to kick it. If you replaced it with a brand new one when you did the engine swap then I would suggest you check your ground spot on the head. The updated knock sensors has a dedicated lug that you use to ground to the block. The older styles sort of grounds through the sensor and typically that location becomes corroded.

When the knock sensor is doing its job (on the 2.5 KL at least) it will retard timing and cut power to the motor. Its sort of like driving the motor in +100degree weather. The car feels very sluggish until the knock condition clears. A couple tanks of good gas treatment and high octane gas usually does the trick for me as Ken mentioned. I avoid that last gas station like the plague once I identify who the culprit is.

Happy Holidays to you to bro!

keep in mind what ken said about possible water in the gas, which can cause stumbles/stalling. in the northeast, we have been through some sharp chills lately, and if your tank was low during that, you could have drawn in some outside moisture. and with the cold temps, it might even be ice at times.

i would suggest using no more than one "treatment" bottle per fill up. and the treatment you try should say it dries gas (usually contains methanol). I have had similar symptoms to yours at times, and adding a drier seems to make it go away, but it is intermittent so it is hard to know. good luck.

I put three (3) bottles of the RED STP treatment at the same time when I have around 5 gallons of gas left in my tank. I do that about every 3rd month. No problems yet and every time I crack the heads from the block things are always crispy clean on the fuel spray pattern.

Towards the end of my oil change interval I also dump about 1/2 Quart of MMO in the gas tank to get the remaining carbon flushed out.

Its what I do... everyone seems to have their own method. In no way am I saying my method is right.
