Default CAC Bypass Actuator

Does anyone have a used CAC Bypass Actuator that they would sell me for my supercharged Milly? The one on my 2001 S broke when I was trying to remove the vacuum hose (the plastic vacuum tube becomes brittle and just snapped off flush). Now I'm in process of obtaining a 2 year California Smog waiver, and the inspector noticed my effective "repair" of the actuator and failed the waiver. He said it needs to be replaced, not repaired. Your help would be greatly appreciated in locating one.

I would consider buying a new one if my Mazda dealer can find it in his parts software. Believe or not, we spent 30 minutes looking at all the intake, supercharger, and emission component pictures and couldn't locate it or the Mazda part number. If anyone knows the part number, I'd like to have it.

Thanks for your help,

Gary

Have you tried a site like TascaParts.com ?? It might be worth a try because they feature some good diagrams in their parts areas... and, their prices are discounted, too.

I, too, have spent endless amounts of time at the Mazda parts department - with the old part in my hand and the number stamped right on it. Yet, they couldn't pull up the part number and their system doesn't seem to be very well set up to handle cross referencing of old vs. new part numbers.

i think you are looking at an assembly, KJ01-20-10XE. oh, and if you are sitting down, 735.97. and if big b chimes in, he may have one. i also know where one is, but i gotta drive like 70 miles to get it, and no offense, but that is a big hassle.

hrm. apparently this is quite the popular part to damage. I sold 2 of them last year alone. unfortunately that means I don't have one sitting on the shelf at the moment for you and it's pretty **** cold to get one from the yard.

Ken - if you have access and this guy pays up front you basically need the whole part where the supercharger observation port is. you can remove the parts to the right and the top where the black plastic grommets attach. there is no easy way to remove just the CAC bypass shutter by itself so this whole thing should be pulled as one.

*edit*

yup, just checked the part number. you need the whole assembly. basically what I described above

I have access to this part. Can someone snap a pic for me of the general area and part itself?

actually, i have one. that's how i knew it is the whole assembly. that car i was taking stuff off has the whole intake off the car, and the injectors. you can tell whomever was trying to fix it, and gave up.

CA smog is stupid. That part doesnt do its job if there is no air flow. They should put the car into a wind tunnel and then should ask you to fix it. Idiots.
