Default What size socket?

What size socket would be required to remove the oil pressure sensor on a KL?

i think it was 18mm, deep. IF it is original, and it probably isnt. if it has been replaced, then you need to get a socket from some place like orielly's that is made for the switch, and it is only for that switch, but it fits like every aftermarket switch for every car out there. once you take off the original switch, unless you get the switch from the dealer, all the aftermarket places have it in the strange socket size.

It is way bigger than 18mm. I'm guessing around 24. It looks just like the illustration of one on page D-2 in the service manual. Two little humps on each peak of the hexagon.

it could be 24mm, i dont remember. what i do remember is that it was a size i dont normally use, and i think i had to use an impact socket. i dont have a 24mm impact socket, but i may have used an o2 sensor socket. i know it had to be deep. and when i got the new switch from oreilly's, and came home, i couldnt put it on, because i needed the oil switch socket, so i had to go back and get one. i have changed switches on both our cars at least once since then, and the oil press socket is the only one i can use. like i said, if you get an aftermarket switch, which is the same one that fits hundreds of cars, you will need an oil press switch socket because it does not have the traditional hex shape
