Beg pardon, Seldom, but this doesn't meet rice requirements for several reasons.
First of all, I'm going to assume these are the same style of factory-equipment badges that were used only in 2001, to be placed on the front fenders.
(Some quick history: That year, both 1.8- and 2.0-liter engines were offered. The DX and LX came standard with the 1.8, but the LX could be ordered as a special "LX 2.0" model with the bigger engine and badges to suit. Since the ES had been using the 2.0 engine since 1999 anyway, it too was given an "ES 2.0" badge -- but only for that season. Long explanation, but easy!)
Secondly, a badge by itself does not constitute rice. Making a badge three times its normal size, or applying it to a car that doesn't qualify (like one of the 1.8-liter Proteges), is a different story. It depends on the intentions of the owner.
Finally, I think this is a cool idea -- and it would be best not to drive off fellow Mazda owners by instantly accusing them of ricerhood.
