i have a95 protege.it keeps braking the alt. belt,there is no idler pulley,it has a new alt.and water pump.has anyone had a problem like tis and what can i do to fix it?

Dont tighten the alt belt so much leave a little play in the belt. When using your finger to push down on the belt you should be able to move the belt a half inch , less than that the belt is too tight.

I have tryed leaving it loss,it will brake sooner or it wont charge.

Are the pullys all lined up? When the belts break, do they just snap in half or wear down on the side until they break? Something may be out of line or running crooked is all I can think of unless one of the pullys is trying to seize up.
