Lost P reg 1996 Mazda 323f key - the only one, can anyone advise pleas

Hi everyone!

I'm brand new here as I posted on Money Saving Expert about the fact that my husband has lost my only key for my lovely Mazda and I'm panicking slightly about what to do, a lovely chap recommended I try here .

I gather the main dealer can help, but I may need to remortgage to finance a new key from them..

The car doesn't have central locking, the car just has the factory fit immobiliser. We have no spare key for anyone to copy, we have tried one auto locksmith who said got to the main dealer.

I'm so frustrated as everywhere is shut today too! We're not giong to be desperate to get into the car until Wednesday when my husband is back at work and I need to ferry the kids about.

All advice welcomed, I'm very much panicking over availability and cost of the key!
Fingers crossed the main dealer isn't the only option.
