Low beam bulb for 2002 Protege 5

According to Sylvania's chart, it should take an h7 for the low beam bulb but the contacts are too narrow to fit the plug. Does the bulb go into the black base and then it plugs into the wiring possibly? Help, I can't return the bulbs because I opened the package before I noticed the difference.

the bulb has a black plastic connector on it. pull it off the old bulb and put it on the replacement.
