My '95 Protege 4 cyl DX auto runs fine but as you slow and then stop, the engine runs rough - you almost think it's gonna stall - then it smooths out and idles fine. Plugs only have 10K miles on them, air filt is fine and I just cleaned the PCV valve. Any suggestions as to what to look for? Thanks.

The plug wires and the distributor rotor could be bad. I assume you don't have a check engine light on.

That's correct, no engine light. Everything is fine except once it's hot, when you stop it runs rough then smooths out.

Could it be the torque converter on the transmission not unlocking? Try stopping it in nuetral a few times and see what happens.
