shift selector linkage 94 protege
I have a 94 protege I was trying to get home to work on. upon starting it the shifter was EXTREMELY difficult to move at all I felt like I was going to break something but I figured what the **** haul on it.
I made it to reverse, then to drive and headed on my way home. I stopped for gas and put it in park, car still drove forward, reverse same thing, turned it off, now it wont go in park or neutral to start the car
I removed the air box to get to the selector on the transaxle, i removed the linkage from it since the linkage was no longer moving the selector. (ie. park neutral drive all of that only moved on the inside of the car no longer on the transmission)
I tried to manually move the selector on my own and I couldnt get it to budge forward or backward, is this supposed to be diffcult to move by hand or is there an internal problem likely in the transmission itself preventing free movement.
Any information would be greatly appreciated on this.
