Well I just found this forum dedicated to Mazda enthusiats...Zoom Zoom!!
Here I present to you my 626. I live in Guayaquil, Ecuador, my car was made in Colombia, it has a 4 cylinder engine, 2.0 liter, double overhead camshafts, 4 valves per cylinder. The model specific name is Matsuri. Production year: 1995. Mazda 626 Matsuri ![]() I have a custom exhaust and downpipe, 4-2-1 for my headers, and 2.5 inch steel tubing for the exhaust pipe... ![]() I love racing, my thrusday nights I spend them at the cuarter mille race track...simply love it. Here some pics of past victories: Against a Mustang Mach 1 ![]() Against a tricked out Mazda 6 (2.0) ![]() Against a tuned Mazda 3 (1.6) ![]() And one alone at the starting line: ![]() My 626 has come a long way from its 118 hp, I don't know how much power it has now, but I've beat a tuned mazda 6 (150+ hp)... I would very much appreciate any comments or questions about my car and myself. Thanks!

Yeah..it hasn't moved much...lol Yup, I beat a 350 Mustang Mach 1, a couple of times..but know the guy has NOS and beats the heck out of me...haha
I have a 2.5 inch exhaust, and 4-2-1 headers. Also I installed modified camshafts, a pair of stock camshafts were machined to a different angle...the car improved a whole lot with that mod...also have ported heads...and machined some of the weight of the stock flywheel...will be getting a complete clutch performance kit soon.. ![]() What else? I also have a variable resistance installed in line with the engine temp sensor...when you turn it up you trick the ECU to think the engine is cooler and sends more gas...it does work! It also has an IAT chip...seems to work... Good tires are a must...the torque that the FS engine has is amazing... The rest is pretty much stock...although I would love to turn the engine to a ZE speck...

Wow, this is Miller Cycle territory, not bad at all
It is funny you mention that variable resistance. I experienced better performance with cold engine, and even altering between decent torque/poor torque during warmup. I then figured this could be a performance mod. Later it turned out my knock sensor was toast (there is no check engine light in the Xedos, found out when pulling the codes). I replaced the knock sensor, which regained the operating temp power. But then I guess it could work with this resistance Do you use it only while racing others?

Actually yes, I only turn it on while racing. I personally installed the wiring and the switches.
The deal is that when you turn it on, you trick the ECU into thinking the engine is cold...so it gives more gas, but that's not all...it also turns off the cooling fan from the radiator. So using the resistance has to be done carefully, to avoid overheating...forgeting it on can actually blow your engine... That's why I have it switch activated, so I never forget it on. In addition to that I by-passed the AC fan...so when I turn on the resistance I turn on another switch that turns on the AC fan without turning on the AC...it kinda compensates the fact of not having the principal radiator fan working. But still I use these only for racing. ![]() In the picture you can see two switches, the AC fan switch is on the other side of the steering wheel. The red switch is for the variable resistande and the blue one is for a blower I installed in the air intake. ![]() The variable resistance is wired in line with the engine temp sensor (the red circle on the left). The wiring goes inside the car and the resistanse can be adjusted with a knob that I installed under the steering wheel. ![]() I love doing the modifications myself, when improving it is much more satisfying than just paying someone to do it...
