solenoid in shifter issues on 92 929

Hey i have a 92 929 and when i purchased the car the guy told me to replace the solenoid in the shifter. What happens is when im pulling the car in gear from park every now and then it will stick and wont move unless i either wait a minute or give it a tap to the gear shifter. Anyone know how complicated to fix this problem or if it will act up and get worse if I leave it that way.

The brake interlock solenoid shouldn't be too complicated, but I'd get it fixed or it might be something that leaves you stranded eventually.
