Hey all,

Well im a newbie at this post, and after extensive research I have found this is one of the best forum sites, and seems to have the most useful info, now enough of the suckiery and lets get down to business.

(I hope siant reads this)
I have a Mazda '89 929, and I also bought a lemon, I have since been able to get almost everything going on this car, and decided that an extra 150 wouldnt go astray for an alarm considering i have no off street parking, well to cut this story short its half way installed, no auto shop is open and i need to know what colour the ignition wire is, on the "ON" positon ( i would also like to know what the accessories is if any one knows).

Im pretty sure i have worked out the central locking, im going to just "jack-in" on the drivers side with a wire. Once i have these figured out i may be back for kill switch ideas (thinking about anouther cruise control switch from the wreckers, doing a bit of cut and paste with the wire, and putting it in a spare switch spot) and i have no idea how to do the immobilizer, but i havent looked into that part in any depth as i got to this stage and its poo, what wire.

Thanks in advance for listing to my rambles, hope someone can help.

Why Isnt it a Luce??

Also, I have noticed alot of refrence to "stock alrams" in the 929, how do I find out if i have one (it obvisiliy doesnt work anyway, but im curiose) I'v bumped the car a few times and re-sprayed it while the doors are lock so it definitly either doesnt have an alarm, or it doesnt work.

(just a note with the top questions. central locking should have read, keyless entry, i think there are a few more errors in there but i hope you get the general jit of things, oh and if it makes a difference, this car is in Australia, (though it was prob improted at one stage, as i cant find any spare parts for it without it taking a week to get them ordered in, I am also interested in anyone selling wiring diag's and workshop manuals for 89 929.

Remove the cover on the underside of the steering column to access the ignition switch wiring. Use a multitester or a test light and tap into the wiring with the key at 'ACC' (first position), then in running position (next position). I have the 89 929 manual, but your car may be very different, being in Australia so the wiring colours may or may not match..The IGN is either Black/White stripe or Black/Red stripe, ACC is Blue on my diagram ...I'm suggesting this simple, direct method because I installed a remote starter myself and that is how they are wired in. I simply wanted to be sure that I had the correct wire for ACC and ON. Good luck.

I found out I had one when I parked the car on the street one night, all locked up, then used the remote starter in the morning...parking lights flashed and the horn started beeping, scared the **** outta me!
