Talking

Well, I'm back again after a fair while without posting, with a new job and another 929...

I purchased this one for a grand total of $AU645:

1992 Mazda HD10E1 cloth trim model w/4WS
170,000km
Engine & gearbox running perfectly (these were the main bits I was after for mine).
Air-con working perfectly (and my compressor is stuffed so this is good too).
Interior in fairly good condition, aside from the bits that were damaged in the accident.

Apparently it went off an embankment but never ended up on its roof, which sounds about right looking at the damage. It was driven home after the crash as well.

Cost me more than I paid for the car to get it transported up here, but it is still well worth it for the parts I need.

And here are a couple of pics:

And a close up of the LHR pillar:

I get to start disconnecting the engine/etc this weekend and hopefully we can have all the main parts changed sometime in the next month or so....

well done on the score mate!! $645, thats a bargain. normally youd pay that for just the **** gearbox second hand from a 230k + car..

Thanks!

Even once the transport costs are taken into consideration I've got quite a bit more than my money's worth:

Engine: Anywhere from $800 - $1100 depending on where you ask
Transmission: As mentioned by Nitros, $650 minimum with more km's
A/C Compressor: $1100 subject to removal

Not to mention all the interior trim bits I need to fix up mine (centre console, door trims, etc - thankfully the interiors are roughly the same colour) & most of the RH exterior trim is still fairly good, plus a large number of spares (window regulators, taillights, etc)... I'm quite happy!

Plus I now have a complete 4WS system to play around with...

Also I'm surprised at some of the small differences I've found between mine (HD10E2 leather) and this one (HD10E1 cloth), mostly with the interior, I'll try and get some pics of the differences tomorrow if I get a chance around work...
