Run a main kill switch off your negative terminal of the battery in your car. easy. Get one with a removeable key.

I had a mate who hooked up a hidden switch in his rx7 it would disable/enable the fuel pump.

His girlfriend used to drive it to the trainstation every day then catch the train to work.

On more than one occasion on her return she found the car had been started and moved a few metres then stopped

I dont really like this idea, good for a laugh, but I dont really want be agrivating the robber

I've always liked the idea of swapping out one of the dash buttons you never use. Onlockers would not think twice about someone adjusting the aircon or radio before they started their car.

Hiding a button under the carpet is another idea but if somone watches you they will be able to work out where it is, unless you used a stomp switch like the old highbeam/lowbeam switches on the floor.....

I'm rambling

yeah....

running it straight from the battery will be a true "kill switch" like what they have on race cars. so your stereo and clock will be reset every time you use it

It will only malfunction on you if you forget to turn the main power key on.. yes, you will lose your radio presets and clock.. but, keep your car, or keep radio presets? I know what i would prefer. I have this in my track 929, with a removeable key. Two reasons, for instant power kill conforming to race regulations.. and no ******* can take off with it where ever the car is cause i have the key!

i think disableing Starter and main power to ECU would be the best.

easiest way to disable full erlectrics in the car is just put the switch on earth (-) from the batery, no earth no circuit, also don't have to stuff around with high currents and possibly would be easier to hide the new wiring too.

there are a few things that need to be considered (radio, clock, resetting ECU every time you park)

this is some options about kill switches (pros and cons):

full electric
cons - Radio presets, clock, ecu
pros - easiest to wire in, required if you use car on the track (Australia at least), if battery relocated - can use circuit breaker to perform the same

Stater
Cons - can be bypassed
Pros - starter safe from buring out

ignition
cons - starter still spins and can burn out the starter

Fuel
cons - car can still be started, hard to start afterwords
pros - easy to wire in

ECU power
Cons - starter still spins and can burn out, complex to wire in, ECU resets
Pros - one switch can disable fuel, ignition, timing etc.

ECU selective systems
Cons - starter still spins and can burn out, VERY complex to wire in
Pros - probably gives best controll of your car systems, one switch can disable fuel, ignition, timing etc.

if im not correct in some things then please correct

i myself would go for starter + disabling ignition and fuel at the ECU, our (at least HC) ECU is well hiden

Thats way to complex, just put a single kill switch on the negative lead, does all the things you have just said with one switch.. too easy.

Smen has the best app. If someone wants your car bad enuough....
this way you still have power to the radio and clock, and the ECU dos not have to reprogram itself.
