I hav ean 89 929 HC sometimes it just cuts off at a light or when i put it in gear from R to D But it start's right back up just had the timeing belt done with all the puly's replaced i even sprayed the intake out and it seems to help for a while so input please

What has led you to believe its the MAF? Diag. by replacing parts is costly. has your ck eng light come on? if so, need the code(s). (refer to the skicky above to retrive the code(s).

Ok just found out that my left valve cover has a crack in it fron tighing those screw's down too tight that hold's the fuel line stuff so could that be why it's cut's off an my check engine light does come on and off every blue moon

If you have a crack in the VC then there is a vacuum leak which is a very likely reason why your car would cut out. Run the codes and replace the VC and the gasket. Then clear the comp and run the codes again. Cast aluminum is very fragile, you should always work very carefully when tightening into allum, clean the threads from all oil and use precise torque wrenches.

Got an new VC and then found out on my intake hose by the IAC Control valve that sgoes in to the intake was loose causeing it to cut off I thought it was mt EGR so i wentot price it at AutZone and its 320.00 so i just stared trouble shooting the car and what all that i had done to it and i found the air leak.But i still had an weak idle but that's do too the car seating for 3 years out-side with out running and stuff
