Wired in the SAFC2 yesterday, set it up, and had a fiddle with the settings. **** they are easy to use, just set RPM points, and adjust corrections up and down for low and and high throttle.
Then today i pulled the exhaust off to weld in the bung for my wideband's o2 sensor, and tapping a fitting for a boost gauge in while im at it, just out of curiosity of what back pressure the exhaust is going to see, to determine whether it will be a restriction or not.
I've got an annoying oil leak which i haven't been able to track down. Its got new seals the whole way through the motor. I'm fairly sure it coming from where the oil drain comes out of the turbo, which will be a prick of a job to get to and fix. Thinking of just removing the hard line that i made and running a braided teflon line instead.

Do you know which wire is the tacho input for the Mazda dash?

if you could take a photo or if you have a diagram that would be great.

I've got to connect my Haltech Tacho output to the dash but only have a mess of chopped wires in the passenger kick panel to stare at.

Good to see it coming along

Pictures of engine mounts are somewhere in this thread. Just cut the original ones off, then made new ones to line up with the 2jz original mounts.

Hey mate, you are right about it being the yellow wire with blue trace. I have labelled it as no.10 on the second plug in the thread about wiring (which not all is correct).

I had to get some diodes (not sure which code now, but its readily available on the net) and trace all the negatives from the coils back to the ignitor (so they were all in the same place) and tap into each one and connect them all, then send a central wire to that yellow/blue in the kick panel. You need to make sure you use diodes, otherwise the coils can communicate. They also need to go in the correct direction.

The 929 is used to seeing a single coil signal, which is why you need to connect all the multi coils together. To test if its going to work before you do all the wiring, just bridge off one coil and send it to that yellow wire. The needle should move, but not until you get into higher revs at it will only move 1/6th the revs as it normally would (eg, it will display 1000rpm at 6000rpm) if this works and you get some movement then you will be sweet.

Finally getting back into this after not giving it any solid work for around 3 yrs.

Today i replaced the cam seals with some geniune toyota after the other starting leaking when the new cams went in. Prick of a job as you have to take the timing belt off, but went surprisingly smooth.

Next up is ordering a new radiator as the old one is stuffed. Ill then chop up the mounts and make it easier to take in and out (vertically) as at the moment its a real pain of a job because it has to come forward before it comes out, but with some little room its not easy.

From there will be basic rego stuff like getting the speedo working, and finding a battery drain i have at the moment Will worry about thing like making it quicker, stall converter, etc when its actually going.

Just bought a VL commodore ebay alloy radiator for this. Hopefully will help keep it cool and will also hopefully allow my to recess it further so i can get a beefier fan on it.

I say hopefully because the dimensions and inlet/oulets are about right, but i have no idea where the mounting points etc are on it.
