Hi there, Abdul here from Australia. I have a problem with my car, there is like a vibration rattle thing when I accelerate normally. I dont know what it is, its really startin too piss me off.

It only happens when the engine warms up.

The engine was rebuilt 15 months ago, and does not use any oil or coolant. I have also had some other recent work done to the 929 this includes:

* Replacement of modulator valve on transmission
* New brake bads all round
* New starter motor
* New muffler

If you are at a standstill, and you rev it up to like 5,000rpm, no rattle at all, really smooth, its only when you are on the move.

The mechanic said it could be the Catalytic Converter, but he checked it and said it was fine. Also he checked the heat shields and there all tightened up.

Its startin too drive me crazy.

Any ideas welcomed

Just a update on my car, I took it to mechanic for another opinion on the rattle, turns out the engine was pinging/spark knock, or something like that.

He said the ignition timing was way out. The 929 is now running and driving as it should, very smoothly

Also would like to say Merry Christmas to everyone in the Mazda 929 forum.

I hope everyone has a very Happy New Year & best wishes for the future.

Abdul of Australia
