HAs any body done this yet. Mine started to leak so I went and brought the valve cover kit the rubber ones.( not the cork one )
As we all know the left sid eis the easiest but the right side is somethign else.
If antbody has done this.. how many parts do you have to take off, and about how long does it take.

on a SOHC it was a royal pain.... had to go as far as taking the elbow off the intake with throttle body. dizzy needs to come out from memory (not sure on that though) and BAC valve (if you haven't disconnected hoses on that some time in the new past then that is going to be fun)

Well I'm going to work on it today, Been to clod out side to it and don't feel like driveing arcross town to the shop to do it. It look's an all day job.
Im going to remove the back elbow of the intake off.witch mean's I have to take off that dam EGR valve so I'm going to clean it while thats out..And Ill might as well do my PCV too.
One thing I learned if you ever haver you ICV off never try clean it. it won't work again found that out the had way.
(might paint my intake elbow too while it's off)

Its not that much of a pain, throttle body and all that.
Yea that damb egr. Wise move on the cleaning while you got everything off (I soaked mine in acetone for hours before I went to town with an assortment of wire brushes).

Did the same “bad cleaning” on my icv a few years ago, then did a little research and found that the bac side has a thermowax valve for the coolant which the solvent completely destroyed.

When I had all my **** off, and luckily I had the time (hope you do too), I also took off the intake manifold and replaced the vacuum lines. It proved to be worth it because the lines were hard, brittle, and time was not on their side. Not to mention the check valve to the vacuum chamber was shot.

Have fun and don’t bang your hands up too much.

Changed the dang thing (should have tooken pic)

The only hose I replaced was teh PCV hosew that was shot.

Man the only way to get the right side vavle cover back on is to take out the whole dis. it self, and pu tit back with out messing up your timeing.
I tried to do my rear cam plug but I could find a way to get those dam thing's out.
(since I got my motor redone the right cam seal has been leaking)
But got every thing back together.
Ok now the thing's I broke outing it back together.
1. EGr bolt broke off while tightening up so I just put make gasket on the hole dam thing
2. One of the dam stem's on the carcaol canstener broke (****) so I just sttuck a tube from a old car ant, and shoved it in to the line and JB welded it,( work,s fine)

So I drove my car about 2 hour's to see how it did and it ran great even better. I think when I took out my dis. and put it back I might have changed my timeing a little.
But man after that cleaning and breaking stuff I still didn't get that leaking cam seal but I got that dang valve cover leak done.

Is there any accepted way to clean the BAC/ISC valve that won't kill it? Where's the friggen' PCV valve on this thing anyway? And how in the **** are you supposed to replace the cam covers? Take the head off ?? Seems pretty excessive.
