Hi gang I had a question. The other day at 10:30am a lot of stuff on my dash stopped working. The clock, the radio/cassette/cd, the security indicators, the power door locks (related to that I now have a constant door open light on my dash). When I turn on the car my ac controls show temperature in Celsius with no memory of what the last setting was.

What would cause the power door locks, clock, and audio to all stop working at the same time?

Check your fuses under the hood then under the dash

I used to live in Fahrenheit land. That's when temperature setting remained the same - the car had "memory". Now with this dash issue - the nonworking clock, radio, and car alarm - the electronic door locks that only work when the ignition is on, with the door open warning light always on - each time I start up the A/C is reset to 25.0 Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit). I checked the fuses - at least the ones labeled for radio and dash accessories and they look ok. I'm just going to go through all of them under the dash and under the hood. I'll also disconnect and reconnect the battery and see if that gets anything going. After that the suspect is either a wiring short or defective engine computer. I just replaced another window regulator a few months back - it's kinda like I said a long time ago - owning a Mazda 929 is akin to dating a beautiful woman with an nasty drug habit.

Btw anyone else here experienced any of these dash/door lock issues?

Update: it was the 15W "room fuse"- everything is back to normal as far as I can see. If not, I'll update. Thank God I didn't have to replace the ECU or worse...get into the wiring....

so 2 years of mechanics and the dealer looking at the car...and me just consistently reading up on this site finally led to the fix. Exact same problem...thanks alot, simple fuse exchange and the cars back to normal.

same thing happened to me, the fuse kept on popping out, the fuse holder terminal was stretched open so i had to get some small needle nose pliers and close it back up
