This is my White 1988 Mazda 929. I know it isn't pretty but it's dependable as ****. 4 years ago I put $1400 into the car to make it new again: a full rack and pinion, ps pump, tie rods, front wheel bearings, rotors, wheel seals, loaded front calipers, rear pads/rotors, trans filter flush, tires, etc. My Dad has been driving it and he's let the maintainance go for a while. So it's time for me to get it back in tip top shape again.

Here it is just after a fresh wash and a interior detail.

Man the interior is still perfict. I love it.

204,000 miles and being stored outside because it's a daily driver hasn't been nice for the fuel lines. They're popped and need to be replaced front to back. That's going to be first than a tune-up and a rotors cut, and exhaust work. I'm also planning to put a 2-3in lift kit and new bushings.

I picked this bad boy out of a fully loaded 91 929S.

I was hoping it would be a plug and play install but I'm going to have to go back to get the harness out of the car I found it in. New speakers are also in the plans as the ones I have are 20 years old.

Because it's a daily driver and the streets on the southside of Chicago suck, the car is still riding on the original suspenshion. When that car has 3 or 4 people in it, it sinks really low. Oh, and around here you get praps for riding high old skools. So why not, I geuss.

It could happen if you really want it to. Check out this link: http://www.universalcarlifts.com/FWDCARLIFTS.html

I'm just going to put a cheap Autozone kit in like most people do.

---Lift Kit---
I put in the lift kit up front, I got a 1.5" lift. I'll probably adjust them up a bit more and try to max them out. The car was at 26.25" front, top of the fender acre to the ground, which is only like .5" wheel gap. The car rides a lot stiffer and looks higher then my blue 929. So far so good. The rear lift will be in soon and I'll take pics soon.

---brakes---
As for the brakes it's worse the I thought. The driverside rear caliper is locked up and killed the rotor and pads. The rotor is broken and the rear is going to need pads, rotors, calipers, and flex lines. The front is going to need pads and rotors. So I'm looking at almost $500 worth for new brake parts. I might swap the rear calipers and hardware off the blue 929 and just get new pads and rotors.

The front wheel bearing are still good. Does anyone know if they can be taken out or not? I took em out when they were new But I don't know if it can be done after 20,000 of use. I did anti-seize them before I put them in. Not sure if that helps.

---Other---
On a side not my blue 89" 929 is out of commission with a blown alternator and I need to have the rear window replaced on the white 929 because it just got bricked. I also got around to fixing the front bumper as it was unhooked on the sides and looked funny.

if u got a press u can try pressing them out, heating the rotor could help. Last u could try cutting them out...

The rear bearings are in a reuaseable holder, so it could be possible. Even if the fronts see more temp.

Thanks NoD, That's what I was hoping. It's a good thing I anti-seized them before I put em in 20K ago.
