Can anyone give advice: what's the best way to remove the front pipe from the exhaust manifold, assuming the nuts are completely rusted on to the bolts? Thanks.

get a nutcracker. it will split the nut.

spray some WD40 on it and let it soak in for an hour or two. then try to get it off.

I know youve already got it off, but for future reference always use a six sided socket for anything tight or corroded. Nothing worse than rounding a nut.
