Question

I have a BIG problem, I have a 95 Mazda 929. Runs great except for one thing. When I hit a bump or drive on a bad road/highway the car swerves to the side & it can't handle bumps or anything. What can be the problem? I want to drive the car in peace, it feels like it's about to tip over every time I drive it.

HELP!!!!

Struts or shocks, when i had my buick, the struts went and if i turned at more than 25mph my rear end slid out. It sounds like it may be the same thing.

I would say your four wheel steer system is having some issues, have you thoroughly checked out the rear end?

does his car have 4 wheel steering? does the steering wheel spin by itself? how fast do you go over these bumps? how big are they? do you drive with one hand? where are you located?

Well I read this thread and thought it might be the control arms, it happens anywhere; Highway, regular street, it can happen anywhere from 20mph to 60mph, it doesn't really swerve, on the highway it moves side to side and feels like it's about to tip over. I drive with one hand or two hands and it still does it.

Does the car shake? Is so at what speed? Try jacking up the car and pulling on the wheel to see if you can find out what is loose. Pulling on the top and bottom is to check the ball joints and wheel bearings, left and right is to check the tie rods.
