Just a heads up that the Mazda MX-5 short shifters that are plentiful and cheap on ebay bolt up to the 929 HC manual gearbox. People sometimes mod these to fit rx-7s by shaving the bottom pivot bush, but it's the same size on ours, so no need (lucky us!). My kit was pretty terrible quality so I had to clean up a bush that was sticking out, but the rest of you shouldn't have to do that. Feels quite nice (haven't actually driven the car yet, as the tailshaft is in the shop getting balanced.)
I should also note that you will need a new shift knob as the thread is different (I think it's 8mm instead of 10mm size stick) |

jea, there are a couple of them on uk ebay, and accoring to the pic it looks exactly like the shifter in my type2 trans.
