As most of you know, Im building a more "performance tuned" 929 that most. And Im trying to find ways to get rid of the "plush ride" the 929 has.

A buddy of mine has a set of fc subframe spacers, made of aluminum. If they work I would love to run them in the car to reduce some of the subframe slop.

these are the ones he has - http://www.mmr-direct.com/

Thanks in advance for any info,
-Mike

u can post the dimensions of the rx-7 subframe bushings/spacers
and maybe someone else has pulled the subframe and can provide the 929 dims.

or someone could ask some mazda dealer. if you are lucky the partnumbers will be a match.

lastly, its quity easy to mill alu.
and large aluminum bolts are quite cheap

Aluminum bolts for suspension is asking for disaster.

I know its easy to mill aluminum, but then I could just have custom ones made. I will call mazda tomorrow, and get part numbers. And I will also ask him to get me some measurements on the FC spacers.

If its close, when I pull the diff for LSD swap. Ill try it out and see what happens.

Any more input would be appreciated,
-Mike

i must admit i doubt it. The rear of the 929 looks like more of a morph between series 5 and 6 rx7s, but yes i would lov to know if they fit.

hehe. with bolts i did not mean actual small threaded bolts.
bolts is also the term used for round raw metal "stubs" in different lengths and diameters, that can be milled.

u can also use polyurethane and nylon.
and mazdaspeed929 is working on getting some poly subframe bushings made.

Yeh, I would use poly if I planned to drive the car everyday. But with the direction its going, it looks like I may be picking up another 929S for a daily driver and this as a full time toy.

I would love to find out if the FC aluminum bushings. I would get a set if they did. I guess the best bet is to hit up the dealer and compare part #'s.

If not I'm going to have poly subframe and other bushings not included in the KDM kit custom cast in the spring around the time I rebuild my steering system. Those interested shouldknow that it will happen, I'd have it done now but there are other things that have priority.

^ word, I wish I had a subframe laying around to test them on.

I might just buy them and keep them until I get my diff, and try them then. If it turns out they dont work I def want a set of poly's.
