Thumbs up

HELLO EV1 I HAVE A 929 THAT I HAVE OWNED OVER 10 YEARS.THE CAR RUNS GREAT AND ALWAYS HAVE BUT LATELY I NOTICED THAT WHEN I AM ON THE FREEWAY.THE CAR TENDS TO GET OUT OF CONTROL WHEN I GET OVER 60.IT SWAYS BACK AND FORTH ALMOST LIKE IT WANTS TO FISHTAIL.IT ISNT AS BAD WHEN THE WEATHER IS DRY BUT WHEN IT RAINS. I TRY NOT TO DRIVE IT B/C IT FEEL LIKE IM DRIVING ON ICE OR IF ITS GOING TO HYDROPLANE AT ANY MOMENT.EVEN WITH SEMI STRONG WIND IT LIKES TO TOSS IT LEFT AND RIGHT BACK AND FORTH.I ALSO NOTICED ON THE FREEWAY SOMETIMES THEY HAVE LINES OR GROVES EMBEDDED IN THE ASPHALT LIKE WHEN YOURE GOING AROUND SHARP CURVES AND EVEN ON STRAIGHT AWAYS TO GIVE YOU BETTER TRACTION OR HELP SLOW YOU DOWN.BUT WHEN I DRIVE OVER THESE LINES.AGAIN MY CARS GIVES ME THAT FISHTAIL SWAY SIDE TO SIDE FEEL.DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THIS.I REALLY LOVE MY CAY AND WOULD LIKE TO FIX THIS B4 WINTER IF I COULD WITH OUT SPENDING AN ARM AND A LEG.THANKS EV1 AND BE SAFE

soudns like your tires are worn and you have no tread on them, to tread the water.

without tread on the tires, you will float on the water, and hydroplane. and eventually crash!

1. tires
2. wheel alignment
3. new shocks, possibly bushes too, check tie rods and anything that has to do with suspension

check all those things and let us know

thanks for the response the tires only have 3000 miles on them 4000 tops and i had an alignment done about 3 months ago. i have never replaced struts/shocks and i have about 180k miles.they do seem a little worn but nothing major.will bad shocks cause the car to behave that way,and where can i find a bushing kit for the suspension.thanks again for the advice

floating steering usually caused by:
* worn Shocks
* worn Steering rack
* worn Steering rack bushes
* worn caster arm bushes

the rest will play its part too

our caster arm is something similar to these (the red ones) they are just not as straight as these

http://dnamotoring.com/dnamotoring/images/...RM+BOSH_RED.jpg

there is a bush on one end then the mounting bolts on the other that bush wears
