Pulse Generator - Code 55

Does anyone know what the Pulse Generator is and where to find it on a 1992 Mazda 929?

The hold light flashes for Code 55 - Research says that is the pulse generator. The Dealership I spoke to breifly said it was the speedo sensor. The speedometer worked but I swapped out the sensor anyways. No Change to the Hold light flashing and the speedo still works.

don't be bothered by 300zx, on both cars the boxes are JetCo. (Nissan Navara 4WD has same box too )

Ok I think I know where a sensor like that is on the side of the tranny. I will try to pick one up this afternoon.
