hi all i have a 1984 mazda 929 2L hard top and cant find valve clearance any where i have been told .020mm on intake and .030mm on exhaust.
i have done it to that spec but it sounds like a tractor please helppppp cheers sav |

i am not sure about 929 FE i only give you some info on the 626 FE ( i can't see there would be any difference)

fellas there talking about using different clearances have not seen any other recommendations except 0.30mm hot |

On my FE 2.0 pickup I've set my lash as tight as .006" intake and .007" exhaust (adjusted cold), any tighter than that and you may run into problems with the valves staying open once the engine warms up. I've routinely set mine for .007" intake and .008" exhaust (adjusted cold) for several years without problems.
