Mazda 929 A/C and Heater issues. Possibly the blend door?

Hello,

My heater and a/c will only blow out of the defogger and will not switch to face, feet etc. I did try switching the control unit but that did not fix the problem. (I now have an extra one if anyone is interested). An employee at Autozone said it might be the blend door acuator. I was able to find this posting on your forum airflow vent problem but am looking for something a little more detailed.

Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? Can anyone provide detailed instructions and pictures to aid the job? Even if I can just get it to blow air out of the front vent instead of the defogger. That would be great. Thanks!

i have the exact same problem. all the air flows from other vents are working fine except the ones to the face. even when the display is turned to face, the defogger flows too. pretty weird. would love a reply on this.
