Default The Mazda audio harness, aftermarket stereo, 929 1991

just a noob asking some nooby questions. I want to take the factory deck out and put in a normal chinese double din unit. I have a 1991 929 Sentia HD.

Stargate 7 Inch Touch Screen Car Media System and GPS Navigator

i read in the forum about harnesses and i found a mazda harness in ebay

SCOSCHE MA02B 1990-UP MAZDA CAR STEREO WIRING HARNESS (eBay item 140547740489 end time 11-Jun-11 08:21:10 AEST) : Consumer Electronics

now am wondering, the new deck has all the connections in RCA, how am i supposed to wire the whole thing up? do i really need a harness? would be really helpful if somebody explains the whole process to me.

I have already ordered the Stereo puller pins to clamp and take the factory deck out

thanks in advance

If you have a harness then u do not need to hack up the original mazda harness.

From the harness u will get.
power, ground and switched positive. Make sure the wire gauge and fuse is appropriate for the player, since it can have a significantly bigger power consumption.
Possibly dimmer input and so on.
if you are running the speakers without a amplifier the orginal harness have wires going to to speakers.

If you are running an amplifier then you lay down RCA cables to the amplifier and then cable from the amp to the speakers.

So.. The harness contains some useful cables but, if you need bigger cable for power and ground and you are running an amplifier, then much og the harness is useless

thanks a million for your reply, although i am slow in understanding this haha. i forgot to say, i wish to use the factory speakers and the amp (isnt there an amp in the boot?), dont want to change anything. Does it mean the new harness will be helpful? or i will have to solder the wires?

thanks

You can get away from soldering, most new players use ISO connectors. If your player use ISO connectors you just need to find a harness with ISO connectors opposite the mazda harness.

But if you can solder, connecting that mazda harness to a iso harness will be easy.

it comes with the iso connectors and the iso harness, so if i can understand your post correctly, by having the mazda harness, it should just be click click?

Yes, with the correct harness it can be plug-and-play. Either by buying it, or making it
