Default HC Luce performance

Hey people,

Brand new here, looking to be a regular lol.
After as much info as i can dig up on my HC 1986 2.0ltr V6 turbo.
What im after is performance. I'm not overly mechanicly mindly, but im learning. So if i ask dumb questions .....bare with me please
My Luce is going into shop shortly, looking at a manual trans conversion, and a tidy up in the engine, getting rid of all the "unwanted" parts in my engine. But im also looking for how and where to get the power from. It already has a frontmount intercooler setup.
Things im hoping you can specificaly help me with is what turbo upgrades i should be looking at, and what parts in the engine i should look at (weak spots) its done 170,000kms. Also what else is a good start to begin getting this motor to be all that it can be and more

Many thanks ahead to allll those that help me that.

Jordan.

P.S Will post pictures of my beast soon as i can,

I'd say the weakest part of an hc is the automatic tranny.... but your going 5 speed so you just fixed that problem

don't think you have a power house there

the easy way is to get a boost controller and you have 13-14 PSI sealing will get it going a bit.

fix boost leaks.

manual transmission will require another 929/luce with a manual.... a very few parts are different. otherways you can get FC gearbox (you still would need original HC bellhousing and pedal box from memory, custom drive shaft etc) have a look at tech section there is a post of nitros13 going through the steps

as for general power, none really pushed JE/JF motors so no one really knows what will work and what it will yield. for power most people head for engine swap (plenty of examples on this board)

gearboxes on these are not bad units, they are same jetco units as in 300Zxs and HC DOHC has the same box as ZX Turbo and Navara.... but the for real power it should be opened

with mazda you have a few options:

rotor NA or turbo
FE-DOHC with custom turbo setup

maybe even 2.2 Trubo out of Telstar/626/mx6
