Default Hc luce 1986

Hi guys, back again.

Still trying to fumble my way through all the awesome help on this site.
But at the moment ive hit a wall. i desperately need to find a Flywheel for my luce.
NZ just don't have many floating around!
My luce is the 1986 2.0ltr V6 turbo model, its being currently fully rebuilt with upgrades all round, it took me nearly a year to find a full manual conversion kit and i got pretty excited. but now ive realised the flywheel is missing!!!!!

Can i use ANY other flywheel from a different mazda? or does someone have one for sale???!?!?!??!!?!

PLEASE HELP!

I live in Christhchurch, New Zealand. But im willing to pay for freight (of coarse)

thanks,
jordan

hi mate,

best bet would be to find a stuffed one and goto your local clutch place and get them to source one.

while your at it get a lightened steel one for better reving as well.

Thanks, i have just sent off an email asking about that part. fingers crossed. will also go down to a few local clutch specialists and ask around. See if they can help me either.
Im wanting big things outa this motor as it seems people are too quick to write it off and do a engine conversion! TSK TSK

hey interesting thought...i know that the series 4-5 rx7 have a few interchangable parts, like the gearbox (if you have a luce bellhousing).
May seem like a stupid question, but would a S 4/5 rx7 flywheel fit my gearbox? or would any other mazda flywheel fit?

no 13b motors use a single big nut on the end of the e shaft to hold the flywheel on where as je motors use 6 bolts. je and fe (miata) motors have the same bolt patterns and use the same clutch and pilot bearings however the outside diameter of the miata flywheel is too small so the ring gear will not meet up with the je starter

Luckily i have just found a flywheel. i havent seen anyone try and get much out of the JFT engine so far. I know its because they are deemed not to be a powerhorse. But i thought i'd give it a go. Currently i have one being fully rebuilt with a bunch of extras going in.

Also just purchased a Royal Classic Luce (has a air purifier, no fridge....**** it). So now i get to think of a engine conversion.......top contenders so far in my mind are the 13BTT and the RB26DET.

Thoughts anyone??????
